Rob has
a BA and MS in Botany from the University of
Iowa. Rob has over twenty years of academic experience working in biochemical
research and development in both animal and plant systems. Rob recently
joined Warren Analytical Laboratory from the Department of Animal Sciences
at Colorado State University, where he was a member of the Center for
Red Meat Safety. He has worked in protein chemistry, molecular biology
and food safety research. Notably, Rob was a member of the CSU team
that developed a highly sensitive and reliable test for detection of
CNS tissue in meat products.
Rob’s
responsibilities at WAL include method development and evaluation, quality
process control, and business development.
Edward

Ed
has a B.Sc. in Microbiology (1979) and a M.Sc. in Food Science (1983)
from Cornell University. He joined Warren Analytical in 2000 to direct
efforts in Quality Assurance and Technical Service. Prior to WAL Ed
worked in the food industry in the areas of dairy, spices, seasonings
and food ingredients, meat and poultry, and grain milling. He has manufacturing
plant experience in each of these areas with both raw and processed
products. He has developed and implemented HACCP, sanitation and GMP
programs for many food processing plants and has also taught HACCP and
conducted food safety and sanitation audits for food industry clients. |

Pam
Quick -

Pam earned
a B.S. in Microbiology (minor in chemistry) from Colorado State University
in 1969 and joined Warren Analytical Laboratory in 1985. Pam has served
in several positions in chemistry and microbiology at WAL and was appointed
microbiology supervisor in 2005. Prior to joining WAL Pam was Assistant
Manager of Environmental Affairs for Great Western Sugar Co. She has
extensive experience in food, feed, water and wastewater analysis using
USDA, FDA, USP and AOAC methods.
Joshuah
Becking -
Chemistry Supervisor

Josh holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska
in Omaha. He started his career at Warren Analytical as a bench chemist
in 1997 and in 2004 was given supervisory responsibility for the Instrumentation
Laboratory. He specializes in nutritional analysis of foods and detection
and quantitation of metals, minerals, pesticides, antibiotics and hormones
by gas chromatography, high-pressure liquid chromatography and atomic
absorption spectrophotometry. Josh is also HACCP Certified by the International
HACCP Alliance (Texas A&M U.)
Melanie
Carwin -
Laboratory Services Manager

Melanie
earned a BA in biochemistry with a minor in Physics from University
of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO. in 1999. She began work at Warren
Analytical Laboratory in November 1999 as an analytical chemist. As
an analytical chemist, Melanie received additional training on wastewater
through Hach in Loveland, CO, and on Nitrogen/Protein with LECO based
in St Joe's, MN. Melanie's tenure as a bench chemist provided extensive
training and background in all wet chemistry methods offered at Warren.
Melanie acted as Chemistry Supervisor from 2004 to 2006 prior to her
move to Laboratory Services Manager.
